5 Most Dangerous Prostitution Hotspots In Nairobi Where Men Get Cheap Pleasures

Nairobi has seen a rise in prostitution over the past several years as many women move to the city to partake in the oldest industry in the world. Many people in Nairobi used to think of Koinange Street as the area where commercial sex workers congregate.

Sex workers in Nairobi’s Central Business District have recently shifted their strategies and relocated away from Koinange Street.

The sex workers have now relocated to Nairobi areas that, according to them, are near to their clients. The Eastlands neighbourhood of Nairobi has the most afflicted estates, which worries some of the locals who claim the sin is destroying the moral foundation of their communities.

Here are Nairobi’s top five estates where prostitution is most prevalent.

1. Kayole

Kayole is one of the most populated estates in Nairobi and one of the city’s main prostitution hotspots. Hundreds of commercial sex workers are at work right outside the well-known Nyama Villa club. The sex workers and their clients frequent a number of lodges in the region surrounding the club.

2.Umoja

Umoja estate is well known for its abundance of bars, wineries, and liquor stores. This estate has also seen an influx of commercial sex workers who primarily work the area’s well-known bars.

3. Eastleigh

Eastleigh, one of Nairobi’s expanding business areas, has seen an increase in sex workers drawn to the multicultural neighbourhood by the promise of quick money. While Eastleigh’s 12th street is well known for its prostitutes, the route is also lined with numerous lodges and guest rooms that have room rates as low as KSh 200.

Commercial sex workers, usually of Ethiopian and Eritrean ethnicity, also use the third and ninth streets in Eastleigh as bases.

4.Majengo

Majengo is known for having the cheapest sex workers in the industry and is thought to be the centre of prostitution in Nairobi. Majengo prostitutes are renowned for waiting for clients outside of their rooms while perched on their distinctive stools.

5. Ngara

The estate, which is close to Nairobi’s Central Business District, has recently been severely affected by the influx of prostitutes. The majority of them target university and college students who stay in the hostels near the estate.
