The majority of churches in Kenya and around the world do not support homosexuality or bisexuality, but there is one exception: the Cosmopolitan Affirming Church in the capital of the country.
The Nairobi-based Cosmopolitan Affirming Church (CAC) is well renowned for providing accommodations for gays and lesbians.
The church, which is situated in a wealthy area of Nairobi, has gradually expanded to more over 100 members.

The streets are bustling with activity, and a street preacher is standing on the sidewalk warning passersby in Swahili that the world is about to end.
The vibe in the space is different, though.
As praise music is performed, the crowd speaks in tongues, much like in a conventional Pentecostal church. The compilation includes both well-known English praise songs and songs in Swahili.
The conventional wisdom maintains that the church was established because of the prejudice that homosexuals and lesbians face in other churches.
The church, together with other religious leaders, is fighting to abolish discrimination against LGBTIQ individuals in places of worship and to defend everyone’s right to free speech, regardless of gender identity or orientation.
