As the wife of the vice-president, Lena Tungo dominated Kenya’s political scene.

Lena eventually vanished from the public eye though, as Daniel Moi was elected Kenya’s president.

According to Morton, Lena had hoped that Moi would one day come back to the matrimonial house after he was finished with politics, but Moi had moved away with the kids.

Lena was only recognized by those in her Kabimoi hamlet, where she spent the majority of her life leading a rural life and occasionally going without transportation, according to citizen Digital.

The former president’s estranged wife was never there at any of her own children’s weddings because of how she was treated.”

Jonathan Moi, their son, who constructed a home in Kabimoi near to his mother and made the occasional visit, is also mentioned in the report. They did not spend a lot of time with their mother as they grew up, unlike the rest of Moi’s children who all remained close to their father.

Sadly, despite her ex-husband leading the nation as president for 24 years, Lena passed away while still residing in a village.
