A 25-year-old woman named Violet Mukabana, who has had HIV for three years, uses her social media channels to promote the battle against stigmatization of HIV patients.
While the majority of HIV patients hide their status out of concern for stigma, Violet is not afraid to tell everyone she is positive.
She received an HIV diagnosis in 2019 and has been faithfully taking ARVs ever since.
Despite being upbeat, she is in excellent health.
Violet claimed in a social media post that she does not conceal her ARVs while she is out in the open because she wants to normalize having the virus.

“I don’t hide ARVs, when it’s time, I just open my bag and take them. I really want to normalize living with HIV. It’s not something to hide anymore,” she wrote.

The 25-year-old mother of one says in a different post that she was deeply wounded when she was originally told she had the virus, but she quickly accepted her condition and began taking the medication.
It would be very difficult to detect if you ran into her on the street that she was infected.
