Nairobi which is the capital city of Kenya has grown over the years from a salty uninhabited swampland, to become the hub of international businesses.

The town quickly grew to replace Mombasa as the capital of Kenya Many years ago.
After independence Nairobi became the capital of the Republic of Kenya and this saw it vigorously grow.

As a governmental centre, Nairobi subsequently attracted a stream of migrants from rural Kenya that made it one of the largest cities in tropical Africa.
Nairobi is the principal industrial centre of the country. The railways are the largest single industrial employer.

The Kenyatta International Conference Center, the Parliament Building and City Hall, the courts, the Roman Catholic cathedral, and the Jamia Mosque are a some of the city’s notable buildings.
