Martin Kamotho aka Githeri Man became viral back in 2017, while queuing to cast his vote. While waiting in line to cast his ballot in the general elections in August 2017, the man gained notoriety for eating githeri.

His plight was exposed following the big day. It was five years ago. His fame quickly faded, but little else in his life changed.

According to TUKO, the The man’s wife had requested assistance in order to construct a home after receiving a plot of land in the Ng’ong Kibiko region as a gift.

The wife went on to say that she thinks he was victimized by others due to his swift rise to stardom.

The same message was given by Martin himself, who said to YouTuber Vincent Mboya that many people had the impression his life had improved after the 2017 presidential election.

Among the honors given to Githeri Man following 2017 was a Head of State Recognition presented at the Jamhuri Day celebrations in addition to a Sh100k cash prize.

Although it has not happened yet, he has always believed he would run into the former President Uhuru again.
