Tupac Amaru Shakur born Lesane Parish Crooks, also known by his stage names 2Pac and Makaveli, was an American rapper and actor. He is widely considered one of the most influential rappers of all time.Shakur is among the best-selling music artists, having sold more than 75 million records worldwide. Much of Shakur’s music has been noted for addressing contemporary social issues that plagued inner cities, and he is considered a symbol of activism against inequality.

Tupac Shakur died on September 13, 1996, six days after an unknown gunman in a white Cadillac shot him four times in the chest at a stoplight in Las Vegas.

The rapper and his bodyguards got into a fight with 21-year-old Crips gang member Orlando Anderson in the lobby of the MGM Grand casino after exiting a boxing bout with former Death Row Records Founder Suge Knight. While watching the same Mike Tyson fight, Carroll, a member of the city’s bike patrol team, was ignorant of the altercation in the lobby.The first policeman to arrive at the gruesome scene was Carroll.
