Ruto is a man whose life story demonstrates how he went from being at the bottom to becoming a hero. The man who used to offer truck drivers hauling merchandise from Uganda local chicken on the side of the road along the Great North road in Uasin Gishu county for sh11 and sh13.
Ruto has achieved success to the point where he is one of Kenya’s wealthiest citizens. By the time he become a billionaire, he had established his own poultry business in a farm in his rural home, Sugoi, thanks to his previous experience selling chicken modestly.

With Ksh15 million, he and his wife Rachel Ruto launched the company. In an interview, he disclosed that the sale of 150,000 eggs from 200,000 chickens earns him sh1.5 million every day. There is a hatchery and incubator that can hold up to 20,000 eggs. Also, it contains a room for storing eggs, and chicks can be purchased there for between 100 and 125 shillings.
