Joseph Omondi, the elder brother of comedian Eric Omondi, passed away in the Nairobi CBD hours after being discovered by his family in 2018.
Due to his cocaine and other drug addiction, Eric’s brother was discovered to be in poor health.
Eric claimed that despite the family’s efforts to assist Jacob, he continued to elude them due to his addiction.

The terrible incidents that surrounded his brother Jacob Omondi’s burial in 2018 when locals attempted to obstruct the service on religious grounds were recently discussed by Eric Omondi.

In an interview with former blogger Robert Alai on The Audit Show, Omondi disclosed that supposed relatives and locals who attempted to obstruct the burial pushed him to call the police.

Eric stated that shortly after Jacob’s passing, a man claiming to be his uncle created a WhatsApp group for his funeral, setting a Ksh3.5 million budget that included building a house for the deceased.
